Recognition by the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, USA) of the Business Administration Degree course and Doctorate.
The Business Administration qualification, an EHEA (European Higher Education Area) qualification, is intended to develop the knowledge and skills that students require to become skilled and honest business people, managers and administrators.
The programme enables students to obtain understanding of different areas of business: economics, finance and accountancy, management and marketing, and other more general areas such as oral and written communication, English, ethics and IT. Students will also be able to apply the knowledge they acquire to practical situations. The programme, moreover, enables them to develop a series of cross-disciplinary skills such as analysis and synthesis, problem-solving, critical thought and a capacity for teamwork.
Learning English is a feature of the Syllabus for which a programme has been especially designed for business. The last two years of study are taught in English.
The degree course will involve work experience in companies during the students' period of training. All students, upon finishing their course, must have completed the credits assigned for work experience. The School of Economics organises student work experience in business through the Careers Service.
The programme encourages students to study at foreign universities for a four-month period in their final year. This experience enables students to complete their training at prestigious universities in other countries, thus enhancing their knowledge of English and awareness of other cultures. It also unquestionably helps them in their process of personal development.
A personal tutor monitors the student and provides him or her with ongoing professional and academic advice.
The Business Administration course is aimed at a broad range of student profiles that include both people who have opted for humanist, social training, and those who are more analytical and technical, depending on the area of business in which they wish to work.
