Course aims

To train graduates who:

1. Apply their knowledge of basic sciences (maths, statistics, physics and
chemistry) to Industrial Engineering.

2. Use the foundations of Engineering in researching, designing,
developing, managing and applying new products and processes in a
wide range of industrial sectors.

3. Are able to join teams including professionals from other disciplines and
use new technologies for Engineering in their work. Our graduates should
be able to express technical information in such a way that it is
comprehensible to all listeners.

4. Become responsible, ethical chemical engineers who are fully aware of
the impact of their work on the environment and on the social and
economic development of the country.

5. Recognise the need for lifelong learning in order to achieve full
professional development.
 

Suitable candidates

Students interested in maths, physics, mechanics, electrics, management, IT and chemistry who have an intellectually inquiring mind and seek solid training that will pave the way for a professional career in industry, designing, developing, manufacturing, controlling and organising all kinds of products and processes.

Type of qualification: Official Degree  

Entry requirements: PAU entry test

Recommended chosen subjects in secondary education:
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Technical Drawing.

Foundation year fees: 10.110 € (course 2010/11)

Duration and classroom content:
4 years (8 semesters), 240 ECTS credits

Timetable:
From Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.
3 to 4 theory hours and 3 to 3½ Laboratory hours or Workshop/Pilot Plant, daily.


Careers prospects

Graduates are trained for careers in all fields pertaining to the production and service industries: metallurgy, new materials, transport, conventional and renewable energy, logistics, electronics, calculating structures, the environment, cars, etc.
Jobs range from organising production to technical management, from designing new equipment to maintenance of industrial plants and from quality control of all manner of products and materials to technical sales.
